I was born in Manchester in 1971 to Irish parents and grew up amidst an already vibrant traditional Irish music scene, fuelled by thousands of Irish that moved to the UK in the late fifties and early sixties. Of course, this diaspora was not just confined to the North West of England, but affected every major city in the UK. At work and in the pubs and clubs the Irish came together, music was like a glue and played a major part in strengthening connections and friendships whilst away from home .

I started playing fiddle in 1984, Manchester was a real melting pot of all cultures, these were the halcyon days of Manchester's pop rock culture, and the city was literally alive with every kind of music imaginable.

In the early nineties, I joined Manchester's Celtic Rock Powerhouse (Toss The Feathers) teaming up with flautist Michael McGoldrick we touring all over UK and Europe USA playing up to 200 gigs a year and recording the Critically acclaimed Album 'The Awakening' 1993

Moving to Ireland in 2003 I joined world renowned Irish traditional Singer Sean Keane, recording on his highly acclaimed 'You Got Gold' 2006.

I have been involved with many well known artists and have toured all over the world, most recently playing the Sydney Opera House with Daniel O'Donnell 2024

A regular player with Dublin Singer songwriter Damien Dempsey's Band, supporting Bruce Springsteen on his Wrecking Ball Tour in Nolan Park Stadium in 2013, and recording on his highly acclaimed 'Almighty Love' 2012.

I was fiddle Player with Sharon Shannon's Band from 2010 to 2020 recording on her 'Sacred earth Album' 2017 and also 'live in Philadelphia' 2018
